Well hey there folks! Nice to meet you.

So we’re Aussie VanLifers Bec and Gary, a couple of coffee addicts hailing from the bayside town of Mornington in Victoria, Australia.

We like taking photos, watching movies, anything chocolate flavoured and curling up with a good glass of wine.

We also happen to live and travel full time in a big red van.

Our origin story is pretty typical -

Guy and girl meet fresh out of high school. They fall in love, they move in together, they spend their weekdays going through the

motions at fine-but-rather-uninspiring jobs.

Their weekends are dedicated to seeking out new places in their local area together.

They are happy, but life is a little… bland. (“Meh” is the word that best come to mind.)

They can’t shake the feeling that there must be something MORE than this.

Then one day an idea pops up that they just can’t shake.

A wonderful, terrifying, slightly bonkers idea.

Somehow they end up buying a big, red, ex-Australia post van.

And that, is where the story gets interesting...

Our Van

This is our Van, a 2008 Mercedes Sprinter 315cdi Extra-Long Wheelbase, Super-High Roof, and yep, it's red! It's red because it's an ex-postie van.

Australia Post is Australia's main postal service and they sell their vans once they're finished with them.

It’s got over 550,000kms on the odometer but it's still running strong thanks to a re-conditioned motor that was installed by Mercedes before we got it.

Over the course a year in between us both working two, sometimes three jobs at a time, we worked on the van in the evenings and occasionally on the weekend.

We worked a lot to save the money to build our van and then to finally hit the road at the end of January 2018 leaving our full-time jobs behind to have the adventure of lifetime.
