EXPLORE - McGaurans Beach , VIC
If you like lazy, chilled-out beachfront camping (correction: completely FREE beachfront camping) then you’ll love McGaurans Beach, located in south east coastal Victoria.
Here you can camp or park mere meters from the waves, legally, for just about however long you wish.
The only catch - you do need to be completely self sufficient. There’s no toilets, no water, no power, no cute little shop to duck out to when you’ve run out of bread. Stock up and bring all that you’ll need, pick your spot of choice, and get ready for some uninterrupted relaxing.
Located between farmland and the beach, there’s the option of both open spots with direct ocean views and somewhat sheltered areas (by trees and bushes).
if you like fishing it’s worth taking the rod; there’s Australian salmon, flathead, whiting and even some more sharks kicking around.
If you’re lucky you might catch something for dinner (or breakfast in our case!)
This spot is one of our favourites in Victoria; in fact, we’ve spent more nights here than ANYWHERE else on the road.
Enjoy folks!
